Policies and Procedures
RDA SA values good relationships among its participants. Policies have been developed to help clients and volunteers understand how RDA works, and to support them if they need help with difficult situations at RDA.
Some of the policies/information below may provide a useful starting point for anyone wishing to find out more about our procedures.

Child Protection Policy
Everyone who works in RDA sessions, or who has access to Centre records, must hold the following clearances – obtained via the Department of Human Services:
- Working with Children Clearance
- Disability Services Employment Screening
- Vulnerable Person Related Employment Screening
If you have these Clearances, please show your Clearance letters to the relevant Centre representative who will record the details.
If you do not currently have these clearances, speak with your relevant Centre representative, who will initiate the online process for you.

Reporting of Incidents
RDA SA is required to comply with legislation regarding reporting of incidents to SA Police.
All incidents seen to compromise a client’s well-being and/or safety mean that action should be taken. All RDA SA volunteers are required to familiarise themselves with the guidelines.
Guidelines for reporting incidents to the police 2014
RDA SA for a variety of reasons such as OH&S is also required to record any accidents and incidents that happens on it’s premises or at any related events that it holds or attends. The following form needs to be completed and a copy provided to the relevant centre at and the State Office within 7 days of the accident.
Reportable Incidents
As an NDIS registered provider, RDASA is required to notify the National Quality & Safeguards Commission of any incidents arising (including allegations) affecting NDIS participants in connection with the provision of NDIS supports and services.
Reportable incidents include:
· the death of an NDIS participant
· serious injury of an NDIS participant
· abuse or neglect of an NDIS participant
· unlawful sexual or physical contact with, or assault of, an NDIS participant
· sexual misconduct committed against, or in the presence of, an NDIS participant, including grooming of the NDIS participant for sexual activity
· the unauthorised use of a restrictive practice in relation to an NDIS participant.
RDASA personnel will notify the NDIS Commission within 24 hours of becoming aware of the incident.
